Amateur Snowboard Contest Near Reno

Amateur Snowboard Contest Near RenoNorthstar California Resort will be hosting its annual amateur snowboard contest near Reno on February 25, 2012.  The resort, located at 5001 Northstar Dr in Truckee, CA, is the fifth stop of TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine’s TransAM series.  Northstar California is just one of six resorts across the country that is deemed worthy of holding the magazine’s contest to find the best amateur snowboarders in the country.

All registered snowboarders hike up the course to participate in a Traffic Jam to get the contest started at 11am.  Forty of the riders will be selected by the judges to continue on to the Ultimate Jam.  During the Ultimate Jam, snowboarders will then participate in three separate jame sessions that last 15 minutes each.  Winners will utlimately be selected from there.  Prizes will be awarded at the pizza party held at the Village at Northstar directly after the competition (2:30pm).

All riders interested in participating in the snowboard contest can pre-register online at HighCascade.com.  Entry fees are only $10 and guarantee you one of the 100 open spots.  You can register on the day of the event from 8am to 9:30am.  However, if there are more than 100 interested parties, you may not necessarily be allowed to compete unless previously registered riders don’t show up.  So, you are strongly encouraged to pre-pregister.  Entry fees do not include a ticket to Northstar.  All amateur snowboard participants will be allowed to purchase one at a discounted rate on the day of the event, though.

The guys and girls who place in the top three positions at Northstar California’s amateur snowboard contest will advance to the finals of the TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine’s TransAM series taking place on March 10, 2012 at Bear Mountain in California.  One rider will also win the ZUMIEZ Best Trick Award: a $1000 gift card.  If you’re interested in participating in the amateur snowboard contest near Reno or want to simply cheer them on, head to Northstar California Resort in Truckee on February 25, 2012.  It’s sure to be tons of fun for everyone!

About Charlene Hamilton

I spent my early years in the Boston, Massachusetts area but I heard the south calling my name so I moved to Altanta Georgia. Here I found the reason I needed to move to Atlanta - my husband, Don, who is an accomplished chef. Due to Don's career we made several moves across the county. While living in Chicago we were given the opportunity to make another career move to the Reno/Tahoe area. We had lived there previously and knew all the advantages of living in Northern Nevada. We were not about to let this opportunity to pass us by so here we are living in "America's Adventure Place". Becuase of our many moves I know the anxiety and excitment of moving to "parts unknown" and have made Relocation my specialty in my real estate profession. When it comes to wine, the proof is in the bottle. Winemakers spend countless hours analyzing different grape varieties to blend the perfect wine. Wine is a living, breathing entity that forever changes. In real estate, the same holds true. Each market is under constant change with progressing and declining market values that create the perfect “vintage” opportunities for buyers and sellers alike. I stay on top of the Reno/Lake Tahoe real estate market changes and make sure that my buyers and sellers get maximum value in any market condition.
